Believe It Or Not....

Creeeepy....scaryy...why it must be Friday the 13th.

This blog is a first of its kind...as it's the FIRST EVER INTERACTIVE BLOG,WHERE YOU THE PEOPLE HAVE YOUR SAY! (and the reason I had that in caps is because I wanted that to sound all Hollywood film trailery - radio dj voicey...did it work? Yay? Nay? Doesnt matter,we shall keep on with the show)!

The reason I say it is an interactive one is because the idea was put to me to see what superstitions, if any, the Twitterverse had. For me, my bonus number in the Lotto was..yup..13. I went with the "lucky for some" mantra with that one! Also..the finding a lucky penny one. Fot some reason, I always say that ditty in my head:

                                                                "Find a penny
                                                                  Pick it up
                                                                  And every day
                                                                  You'll have good luck"

Not so sure about that one! I know a fella that will fire salt over his shoulder. One night, he did it in a pub and nearly brought a gang of lads our way (through no fault of his own...blame the salt) Anyway,we said we might be able to get a bit of mileage out of something like this because I mentioned that I used to work with a fella that, whenever Friday the 13th fell on the calendar,he would always book that day off, without fail. God knows what he did with his day. Probably stayed in and watched Murder She Wrote, or something. Not that there's anything wrong with that! So we put the request out to you, the adoring public,as to what superstitions you may have, or indeed have heard of. The response and results were quite interesting. Deeep breath....drumroll....

1) One Twitterer says apparently, you should never buy gloves for someone. T'is bad luck. But for good luck, you should touch wood..or failing theres no wood around ya,tap your head.

2) One Twitterer (is that even a word..it is now) has to tap her right knee 3 times & bow her head when Johnny Sexton is taking a kick

3) One Twitterer says not superstition as such but apparently loads of Templars were murdered on that date in question, in France

4) Another Twitterer will only wear utd jersey, blk away kit 07 (bought in ot) for home epl games, if at all, if I wear it for other games they lose.

5) Another Twitterer has to put his right shoe on before his left or someone he knows will die.

6) One Twitterer doesnt have any! So there!

7) One Twitterer Will do her best to not walk under a ladder, and doesn't like shoes left on table.

These are all from Twitter sources so thats where "One Twitterer" has gone to!

12) Avoid watching films directed by Nick Love and starring Danny Dyer.

13) A now unlucky pair of Munster socks

14) If you have a wish, travel to Avoca, walk around the Motto stone 3 times without thinking of a goat – not easy, wish granted!

15) Never to step on a grave and if you tripped and touched the soil a death was close

18) Magpies - One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy

19) Never eating a dumpling with a knife and fork, always a spoon and fork
